Last summer when I saw we could arrange our route to be in a city with a Great Wolf Lodge on Lowell’s 5th birthday, I was thrilled. I knew he would love celebrating that way, and the rest of the family would be excited to finally visit a new (to us) GWL location in Kansas City. An added bonus? GWL was able to accommodate our RV by letting us park in a nearby lot at no additional charge.
I shared all about how we celebrated this milestone birthday with this big experience and fewer things over on The Points Guy, including some of my tips for saving money on Great Wolf Lodge visits.
Want to know how we feel about Great Wolf Lodge, in general, and how the Kansas City location stacked up to our usual Grapevine, Texas location? I cover all of that in our video.

If I can make a tiny suggestion; I absolutely love this blog and fully support the way it is going, and I have been a follower for years, but it is really difficult for me to be able to watch videos. I am hardly in a position where I can do so. The switch to video blogs is also difficult for the hearing impaired community, as it’s much easier to read text than to try and figure out if the captions are accurate (often they’re not, especially on platforms like youtube), or to go get some sort of sound amplifier and set it up to the right volume without waking the whole house.
You may consider typing out a quick summary of your video in future posts, as I’d love to know more about Great Wolf Lodge!
Again, totally just a suggestion, and I mean this from the most respectful place possible. I know some people have been giving you a hard time lately, and I absolutely don’t want to be lumped into their circle. I will still hang around no matter what you decide to do. I have just noticed a huge increase in video use in blogs, and while that is awesome for some, it is difficult for others. I love watching the Instagram stories, but can hardly ever enjoy the sound! Those aren’t so bad though as they usually have some sort of text.
Thank you for all you do and keep up the great work! Love the focus of your new site; it feels like a fresh, updated Krause family blog, which I think suites you guys very well đŸ™‚ All the best!!
I fully appreciate your suggestion! This post was thrown up quickly, but I will absolutely try to be more descriptive moving forward. Thank you for your support, Laura!
