When we decided on the RV travel life, I treated myself to a Kindle Paperwhite because books are heavy and take up valuable space in an RV. I’ve put it to work, reading many amazing books over the last year, being able to flip between several at a time while riding in the passenger seat without having an actual bag of books at my feet.
I simply can’t imagine not reading on my Kindle now. The instant access to ebooks, alone, is a huge bonus.
So when the Amazon team at the Mom 2.0 Summit asked me to tell you all about some of their new Kindle and Fire TV products for this sponsored post, I was like, well duh. I was already going to tell them about my passion for my Kindle anyway.
What’s New For Kindle
I walked into their suite thinking “Yeah, yeah… I already love the Kindle.. what’s new?” Welp. Let me just tell you, they keep improving those things. And now there are two that are actually WATERPROOF- the new Kindle Paperwhite ($129+) and the Kindle Oasis ($249+).
Like, take it into the pool this summer and read on your floatie with no worries. Slip into a bath with it!
My love for the Kindle Paperwhite may actually be one-upped by the new Kindle Oasis.
See that design? It’ super comfortable to hold with one hand, and those buttons are dedicated page-turn buttons. Honestly, the page turning is the only thing that kinda bothers me about my Paperwhite. The screen is bigger, too. It’s a 7” display with 300 ppi crisp laser quality text that reads like real paper.
I don’t know that I’d consider it at $249+ if I wasn’t already sure I actually like to read on a Kindle. If you’re feeling the same way, and waterproofing isn’t that important to you, you can get the basic Kindle for $89.99.
Another bonus to my books living in my Kindle? Not having to keep them from the toddler when he’s wielding a pen, or feels like tearing things up. RIP, Janelle Hanchett’s I’m Just Happy To Be Here. Toddlers are monsters.
Fresh For Fire TV
I also got to check out the full lineup of Fire TV devices, and I’m super excited to install them in our next house. If you’re not familiar, Fire TV brings all your streaming services together in one place. You can plug the Fire TV Stick or Fire TV Stick 4K into your TV and start streaming in minutes.
And then there’s the GLORIOUS Alexa Voice Remote. I love it so much. Maybe because this remote, while small, is not GET LOST IN EVERY CREVICE OF THE HOUSE small.
(If you- or your monster toddler- do lose it, there is totally an app you can use, too. )
ALSO! You talk to it! No more having to sync 3 different remotes and study up on what each one does. You just TALK to this one. And it does the thing.
If talking into a remote is not cool enough for you, how about just talking out loud to the Fire TV Cube ($69)? It’s far-field voice enabled, so it will hear you when you’re walking in with your hands full of groceries and you need Paw Patrol on ASAP to distract the monster toddler while you put away the cookies you don’t want them to see.
Thanks to Amazon for sponsoring this post! All opinions are my own, and please don’t worry about my toddler. I love him. He’s just exhausting right now.
