Hey guys! How do you like the new space? I still have a bit of work to do around here, but I’m kinda obsessed already. Can I just say how much easier it is to get a blog up and going and looking BEAUTIFUL in 2019? Unfortunately, still as challenging as ever writing an About page.
In case you missed it, this is my new home. Going forward, this is where all my parenting and travel and photography and house & home & RV inspired content will go- and anything else I feel like writing and sharing about. I tried to keep two separate and niched down spaces going last year – Baby Rabies for all things parenting littles and Happy Loud Life for all things travel and parenting bigs. It was pretty awful trying to figure out what goes where, and was ultimately a failed experiment in breaking my life into neat boxes.
This year is all about streamlining and designing our life to work for us, using what we have where we are. So what I have online are two incredible and engaged communities who sometimes overlap, but are both here for our family’s story and my story. I’m just bringing everyone to the same party where I can be the best host I can be to all of you.
I initially thought I’d be redirecting all of my old content from Baby Rabies to here, but then the people who pay me money for ads on that site were like
And they recommended I just leave all of that ALONE and start fresh here.
Great plan! I will definitely take the advice of people who want me to keep making money with my blogs.
You’ll notice that I have added some syndicated content from some of my most popular posts to this site. You can access them here, but they still live on BabyRabies.com and will forever and ever so all the links you have pinned to them are fine and will be, and you can continue to send your very pregnant friend to that viral post where I shared the things I was too pregnant for. Or any of my posts about postpartum anxiety and perinatal mood disorders.
To read more about my “why” for this move, check out the post I wrote on Baby Rabies.
Thanks so much for following me wherever I go. I recognize so many faces year after year who have been around and grown with me. I appreciate you so much. And I’m so excited to get to know more of the new faces as I keep on doing this blogging marathon.
For anyone wondering about site design and those fun details:
- The blog theme is Soledad.
- My webhost is (and has been for years) David Allen of NewBlogHosting.com.
- My ad network is Mediavine. This platform has to be 4 months old before I can apply to install their ads here, so hopefully they will be up and running later this summer.
- I use a WordPress platform.
