Lizzo has been the soundtrack of 2019 for me (and probably many of you). “Truth Hurts” and “Juice” were two songs I listened to on repeat when I began my 40 Weeks For Me journey, and she inspired this 100% That Witch shirt DIY, obviously.
“Truth Hurts” is #1 on the Top 100 chart, and if it stays there for 2 more weeks, it will be the longest a female rap has been at #1, beating out “Fancy”! Watch this video for the story behind “Truth Hurts.” She’s so freaking awesome.
Anyway, here’s how to put this together- quick and easy:
- A t-shirt (I got this one from Target for $8)
- Iron-on letters
- A ruler or some kind of straight edge
You’ll also need an iron and a hard, clean surface to work on.
Use the chalk and ruler to measure out and draw 3 lines to help keep your letters aligned. I put my shirt on first, and noted that it would look best if the bottom line of my letters lined up with the bottom of the pocket, then I worked up from there.
I placed the letters on my shirt and rearranged them a couple times until I was happy with the alignment. You’re simply placing them, they don’t stick, so be careful some little toddler doesn’t come by and swipe at you with their grimy little paws.
My iron-on letters didn’t come with numbers or the % sign, and I couldn’t find any sets that did that weren’t way more than I wanted to spend. So I used an I and two Os for the 100 and created a % sign by cutting the # and adding two periods.
From here, just iron on, per the instructions on your letters.
The chalk wipes off with a damp cloth.
100% that witch! My Halloween costume is sorted!
The rest of my look
